Keep doing what we’re doing or follow a dream and move to Europe?

I’m 59 and my husband is 65. I work at a job I really like. He’s mostly retired. We have always made middling incomes as a teacher and a musician, but we’ve been savers. Our home is paid off (worth around 350K). We have about another 600K in a 403B and CD’s and savings. My dream has always been to live in France or Spain. Although I like my job, it’s work. And although we love our home, it’s in a marginal, not walkable neighborhood which bugs us. The idea of plunking down 700K on a dream house in Europe is very appealing. We could live on our $5000 a month in pensions and SS I’m thinking. Does this sound like a dream to follow or one we’d regret? I can imagine myself regretting several years of missed income and when the novelty of La Dolce Vita wears off then what? Or do we only live once and we should GoForIt!!! ? Any insights would be appreciated. PS The thought of a more expensive home in a better neighborhood in our area doesn’t excite us.
